Renewable Energy; a pragmatic way forward!
the 22/02/21Oney Insurance, a subsidiary of Oney Group, has been officially certified by Origo with a 100% electricity consumption produced from renewable energy.
Since 1 January 2021, Oney has been working with Origo, a French pioneering-company and a recognised agent authorised to negotiate, purchase and provide guarantees of origin on the European energy market on behalf of its customers.
Concretely, Oney communicates its actual electricity consumption for last year to Origo, which purchases the equivalent volume in guarantees of origin from renewable energy production (wind, solar and hydraulic energy, excluding biomass). Through these guarantees of origin, Oney ensures that the equivalent of its total electricity consumption in MWh (Megawatt-hour) has been produced and injected into the electricity grid by renewable energies. Through this pragmatic process, Oney covers 100% of its electricity consumption from renewable energy sources and supports the development of wind, solar and hydraulic energy.
With sustainability moving into the forefront of global consciousness, renewable energy is becoming more important than ever. Developments in renewable technologies are enabling energy to be more and more viable to adapt to our everyday lives.
